Sing to Move: A Workshop with Tora Hed and Georgie Buchanan

Would you like to explore your playful side a bit more and join in with an immersive art exhibition?
Join Tora and Georgie in a playful exploration of Left Bank Leeds as part of the ‘Movement’ Summer Group Show. Through a series of sensory games, we will discover the sounds and movements of this beautiful space together.
All ages and abilities welcome! It’s free to join in but please RSVP to get on the list.
More about the Artists:
Tora Hed is an independent choreographer and dancer from Sweden, based in Leeds since 2012.
She graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance 2015 and received the Carolyn Woolridge Outstanding Performance Award.
Tora has made works from solo to extended pieces, collaborated with other dance, music and filmmakers, such as Natalia Iwaniec, Angus McLean Balbernie, Carlos Pons Guerra, Dam Van Huynh.
In 2017 she started to work on her new solo “Between Horses “ which was recently performed at Yorkshire Dance.
Tora is currently working with Georgie Buchanan.
Georgie Buchanan is a singer, composer and social artist based in Leeds.
She explores voice as a collective act, a sensation and a transformative process in the belief that the voice is powerful enough to change our understandings of body, gender, disability, border politics and community.
She works across the mediums of vocal improvisation, percussive and improvised dance, traditional folk singing, choral composition, and immersive and sensory performance.
She has performed at venues all around the UK and shared a stage with Show of Hands, Sheila Kay Adams and Anna and Elizabeth.
She has recently been selected to be mentored by Sound and Music, The national charity for new music, and she will be creating a new work in collaboration with them in 2018
