Who we are

As a multidisciplinary arts venue in Headingley, we promote creativity, connection and wellbeing through a wide range of events.  Set in an amazing Grade II* listed former church building, our mission is to preserve our amazing venue in order to inspire and empower our community.

Left Bank Leeds is run by the charity, Antioch Trust Ltd., charity no 1146734.  Money raised from hire and performances goes into the development of Left Bank Leeds.

TEAM

Liz Ainge. Director. Liz looks after the commercial and operational development of Left Bank and our entertainment programming. Liz is also an accomplished graphic designer working with a range of with cultural clients across the UK. She has a background in large scale event delivery and visual communication.


Courtney Spencer. Director. Courtney leads on our strategic development across marketing, communications, audience development, artistic programming and fundraising. She studied art and design as an undergrad and has an MA in Business. She’s worked in Australia and the UK in media, higher education and the arts.


Esme Lunken. Events Manager. Esme looks after our bar facilities and staffing for weddings, events and private bookings. Esme also owns Esmes’ Place,  a pop-up dining and small catering outfit specialising in scotch eggs but not as you know them!


lucy-1Lucy Owen. Fundraising Manager. Lucy focuses on fundraising and business development. She has a background in charity fundraising and strategy and was most recently Chief Executive of Leeds Rugby Foundation.

 

 


SteveSteve Corbridge. Building Manager. Steve has years of practical experience of working with listed church buildings. He oversees regular maintenance, building projects and event setup…when he’s not riding his motorbike!

 

 

TRUSTEES

AnnaAnna Hall: an award winning documentary producer and director, working in the field of current affairs and social issues. She lives 5 minutes from Left Bank and her passion is for Left Bank to be a place of welcome for many different communities.


Giselle Shaw: has lived locally since the late 1980s and was a youth worker in the Burley/Hyde park area for 10 years. She now works in finance, supporting small businesses.


MikeMike Love: is a founder and director of Together for Peace and founder and chair of Leeds Christian Community Trust. He has also worked as a solicitor and in social housing. He was the first person to get a vision for our amazing building, way back in 1978!

 


Simon-HallSimon Hall: is a Baptist Minister and writer who has worked in higher education and youth work.
