Submissions for the 2019 Left Bank Leeds Art Prize are now open, and we couldn’t be more excited to fill our beautiful space with works from c.50 longlisted artists as part of the corresponding Left Bank Leeds Art Prize exhibition. We expect to showcase talent from across the UK and beyond, and will award a £500 prize to support the development of one exceptional artist or collective.
Last year’s exhibition included immersive soundscapes, though-provoking performance pieces and striking installations, all inspired by the idea of movement. This year, we’ve asked artists to submit work that relates to the theme of connection. The resulting selection of work promises to be an eclectic interpretation of a universal subject matter.
Our selection panel will shortlist a number of exhibiting artists for consideration and the winner of the £500 prize will be decided by public vote at the exhibition opening on 17 July, 6-8pm. If you’re coming along, please RSVP to let us know. The exhibition itself will run from 17-20 July, 10am-4pm each day.
If you’d like to submit your own work for consideration, please see our open call on CuratorSpace. The closing date is 12 noon on 2 June 2019.
