To ensure Left Bank Leeds is sustainable and able to develop we have reviewed our legal structure. Here’s an explanation of what’s changed:
Left Bank Leeds is the operating name of the unincorporated charity, Word of Life Leeds – a Christian Community (charity reg. no. 1086843). Pursuant to our need for incorporation, we have Charity Commission approval dated 4/12/15 to transfer all assets of the charity to Antioch Trust Ltd., (charity reg. no. 1146734) upon the dissolution of Word of Life which we aim to complete by the end of 2016.
Antioch Trust has identical objects and trustees and so this is, in effect, a transfer of a going concern. There will be no substantive change in the day-to-day operation of the charity’s business and all staff will be transferred to the new charitable company. Additionally, our increasing non-primary purpose trading will be carried out by Left Bank Leeds, CIC company no. 7827235, which will be wholly owned by Antioch Trust.
For all intents and purposes we are the same, it’s just the legal bit that has changed to accommodate our development.
