Cardigan Road Triathlon Festival
June 12, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
Left Bank Leeds and Youth Point/The Cardigan Centre are hosting the Cardigan Road Triathlon Festival. This fun event is an opportunity to come together and give our support to local and international athletes as they compete in the World Triathlon, Leeds.
Join us for a family fun day packed with activities & entertainment. There will be lots to get involved in for all the family, including traditional fete games and races, a bouncy castle, facepainting, sumo suits, live music from Jonny Walker and a breakdance show and workshop from Breakin’ Through Leeds. There will also be refreshments available and space for picnicing on the lawn.
We’ll be cheering on over 5,000 triathletes of all abilities as they pass our festival in the amateur race – then it’s the turn of the world’s best triathletes to hear us cheer. Let’s do our bit to put the Yorkshire spirit into the Cardigan Road stretch of the bike leg.
Whilst the open races go past in the morning there will be refreshements available at the Cardigan Centre and you’ll have a prime spot to cheer the triathletes on.
12:30 – 2:30
We will be picnicing on the lawn. Please bring along your favourite dish to share with everyone. Dig in, sample each other’s cooking and try foods you’ve never tasted before. Please label with all the ingredients and your name – we’ll bring plates and cutlery. We will also be serving refreshments from the bar.
From 8am – 5:30pm
Fun, games, entertainment and lots of cheering.
This event is free to attend but you will need to book tickets so we have an idea of numbers to expect.
Do you enjoy getting crafty? Could you spare some time to help us be seen from the road?
We are holding craft sessions at The Cardigan Centre on Saturday 11 June. Help us to animate the Cardigan Rd Triathlon Festival; join local artist Emma Hardaker to make banners and flags to help cheer on the athletes. No artistic experience needed, materials provided. Under 12s will need to be accompanied by a guardian who will also require a ticket.
Please make sure you have checked road closures so you can plan how to get to the event.
