Think we could all do with a laugh this year (cheers COVID)! Our comedy nights are here to make your 2020 that bit funnier.
We’re back in December for some post-lockdown funnies with our regular MC Tony Vino and three new acts. More about them below.
Our good friends Sela Pizza provide the food, with veggie, meaty and vegan options available. You’ll be able to pre-order before the event, or order to your table when you arrive. We’ll send you info about this in our pre-event email.
As a COVID-secure venue, we’ve put measures in place to keep you safe, with a presumption that we’ll be in tier three lockdown by 4 December. You can book in groups of up to six people who must be part of a household group or bubble.
You’ll be able to order food and drink directly to your table throughout the event. Masks must be worn on entry and when walking around the venue, but you may remove them when seated.
Doors are at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. We expect to wrap up around 9.45PM.
Our lineups are always diverse – expect to discover something a little different! Here’s who’s on the roster this time:
Allyson June Smith
Canadian émigré Allyson June Smith commands every stage she walks onto with her dynamite brand of hilarious material, driven by the strong rhythms that are a hallmark of North American stand-up.
Her bold, observational style saw her quickly achieve prominence in Canada with credits including her own hour-long TV comedy special, radio shows and festival appearances. She’s also been nominated on numerous occasions for the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Stand Up.
‘Simply one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever worked with. Can play any crowd and always has them laughing their heads off. She’s gonna be a huge star.’ – Jason Manford
‘Yet another hilarious Canadian with great hair.’ – Stewart Francis
Hailing from Oldham, Dominic spent six years working his way up the McManagement ladder at McDonald’s. In 2001, he threw in the McTowel when he saw comedy as a way out of his McJob. Since then he has quickly risen to a regular performer on the professional stand-up circuit. Dom’s confident and cheeky (sometimes grumpy) persona charms audiences as he paints images of the quirky people he meets. He has performed live on BBC 2 and ITV and was a regular in MEN@Work, The Comedy Store’s topical show in Manchester.
‘Effortless delivery’ The Times
‘Dominic has a keen eye for observational comedy and genuine funny bones.’ bbc.co.uk
From Live at the Apollo, Phoenix Nights, The News Quiz and Fighting Talk, Justin is everyone’s favourite northern charmer as well as a nationally recognised comedy hero.
‘Easily my favourite comedian.’ Jimmy Carr
‘A comedic tour de force. Excruciatingly funny.’ Herald
MC: Tony Vino
Preston’s very own funnyman, Tony Vino (**** The Scotsman) has been touring the comedy scene since early 2005. Well aware of social and political issues, he mixes friendly, well thought out observational humour with audience interaction and quick-witted responses. A finalist in 2006 Funny Bones competition, Tony has enjoyed recognition as a comedian and comedy compere of renown. His life and interests are wide-ranging and so is the subject matter he weaves together on stage.
‘Uplifting style, great delivery and consistently funny throughout.’ BBC Manchester
‘Tony Vino makes me laugh on and off stage. He’s always funny and has some of the same letters as my name.’ Tim Vine
