Call out for speakers for our ‘Talking’ events at Left Bank Leeds
Experts, aficionados, nerds, connoisseurs – whatever you call yourself, if you really know your stuff, we want to hear from you!
We’re on the lookout for Leeds locals who can deliver thought-provoking talks on a specialist subject.
Ideally, you’ll be able to present your in-depth knowledge in a way that’s engaging, informative and suitable for a broad audience.
In the past, most of our events have had a local slant, but we’re open to fascinating talks about all kinds of subjects, like history, art, science and nature.
This is a great opportunity to expand your public speaking repertoire and gain exposure with a local audience. You’ll need to be comfortable speaking in front of a large audience and answering questions on the spot. Talks last around 45 minutes and should include an attention-grabbing presentation.
We can pay a fee of £60, inclusive of expenses. We’ll also promote you, your website and your social media pages, if applicable, to our audience.
Sound good? Then send us a brief video (phone cameras are fine!) telling us about you and your experience, as well as outlining your chosen topic. We’ll also accept a short written application.
If you’ve got any footage of previous talks that you’ve given, we’d love to see that too.
Please email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org by 20 February 2019.
Videos should up uploaded to an external platform such as Vimeo or YouTube. Please only send a link to your video – not the full media file. Your video should be no longer than 3 minutes.
Written applications should be no longer than 300 words.
You would need to be available on at least one of the following dates:
24 April 2019
29 May 2019
26 June 2019
The talk will start at 6pm.
