BOOK MAKING WITH KAT WILLIAMS

Join the wonderful Kat Williams and learn how to create your own handmade books, using Japanese bookmaking techniques to turn a simple piece of paper into a personalised book for any journaling or scrap book project.

Kat Williams is a Leeds based artist and illustrator, with a love of sustainable paper-based crafts. Check out Kats work via her Instagram here.

Throughout this session Kat will demonstrate for you a four-hole binding technique, as an introduction to the materials you will be using or a quick refresher for anyone who might have joined Kat previously for her Intro to Bookmaking workshop. After practicing your techniques, you will then move on to create a new book with hemp-leaf stitching.. Guided by Kat throughout, you will go home with your own personal book ready for sketching, journaling, or scrapbooking!

Depended on time Kat will also demonstrate extra techniques, such as kangxi binding, saddle-stitch to practice in the session or continue at home.

All materials for this workshop are included, however if you are looking to start a particular scrapbooking project or have any materials you would like to incorporate into your books you are more than welcome to bring those along!

Our Café Bar will be open for refreshments and light snacks throughout the evening.

All tickets are non-refundable.
